Frenchmans Peak

15 April, 2012

Here's a shot taken from the cave at the top of Frenchmans Peak in Cape Le Grande National Park, Esperance.

This shot is a HDR (high dynamic range) merge of 2 images.  I actually had a third which would have been better, but I'd accidently deleted it the next day. Yeah, I know, bummer!  It's a fairly steep climb to the top - around 200 metres.  At its peak it's 262 metres above sea level.  So, as you can imagine, I wasn't going to climb up again just so I could reshoot it!

It's a pretty spectacular view from the cave and all around the top of this hill.

So if you find yourself down Esperance way with a few days to have a look around, why not get across to Cape Le Grande National Park and climb Frenchmans Peak.  The climb is fairly difficult but doable for most people.  Just be careful on the way down.
