Sometimes, it's sheer luck
In landscape photography, often you need a lot of luck on your side. In this shot taken early one morning, anything could have happened. I could have slept in. It could have been a cloudless or very cloudy morning. It could have been windy. But it pretty much all came together for me. Luck played a big, big part.
Having been to this location (Deepwater Point on the Canning River in Perth) before, I suppose I had already been thinking about an image like this one. The idea was to let you step onto the jetty and take in the view.
Lucky I didn't sleep in, eh?
